Owen Valentine

London born Vocalist/Violinist - Owen Valentine has been touring Major venues around the World with his unique brand of Jazz, Soul, and World Music. With degrees in Jazz Voice and Jazz Violin, he has studied African Music and South Indian Carnatic Music and holds a MA IN JAZZ PERFORMANCE. His Concerts highlight his incredible 5 Octave Vocal Range, Innovative Scat Singing and Funky Virtuosity on the Violin and Spontaneous Song Creation. His Solos at NYC’s Lincoln Center were met with Standing Ovations.

 

Owen Valentine is one of the first Violinists to solo and record in Hip Hop Music and the only African American Violinist to perform with Ireland’s national group “The Chieftains” His extensive performance background includes soloist work with Sun Ra, Gil Scott Heron, Babatunde Olutunji , George Duke, Teena Marie, Stanley Jordan, Mary J. Blige, Parliament- Funkadelic, Jason Samuels Smith and Kamasi Washington.
